wrap up

This blog process wasn’t totally new to me, but it was interesting to make my work public. I have my work on other sites, but a blog is a better setting to spark conversation and talk about the work yourself. I enjoyed having to post a ‘photo a day’ it was a little challenging because I didn’t have as many photos to choose from as I would of liked. But at the same time the work that I had to choose from was a lot more thought out than first quarter because we had a lot of long-term assignments. I generally always posted my final work rather than work in progress because I feel that my final work is the best. However I think it would be a better idea to show both the work in progress as well as the final product to get feedback as to how you can better the photos. I like the idea of a blog because it is a very informal way to show my work and state how I feel about it. It was also a great place to get feedback. One downside to the blog is if you go in depth about what you were trying to convey or get across with the picture you don’t leave as much of that up to the viewer.

I will probably plan on continuing my blog, I like to post an image and talk about it instead of just making it about a body of work. I would like to further explore more blogs and gain ideas and inspiration from them. Blogs are becoming more and more popular in the world of photography. It’s a chance for them to share what they thought about the shoot and give a few preview shots.

I think blogs can be a little limiting in that the photos might not be in the appropriate setting. It also makes photography open to everyone in the world not just the professionals. Blogs can also make photography very informal and not taken to the seriousness that it should be.

  1. I agree with your wrap up in the sense that blogs are a new avenue to have a dialog about your work and about how you work to make images. I agree that more work in progress rather than final pieces belong on the blog, at least a personal blog.

A perfect 40. Well done and good luck with being from a divorced household. I get that being in the middle and have been since my parents split when I was 1 and a half. It gets easier or you just realize your parents limitations and move on. But it never goes away either...Good luck and remember to have a wee bit of patience.
